What are Martingale Dog Collars?
Martingale dog collars are our spokesdogs' favorite type of collar. When used properly, they virtually eliminate the ability for dogs to accidentally slip their collar making life much safer for the pups out there. And guess what! Martingales are also known as no-slip collars, greyhound collars, limited or humane choke collars. Fitting of the collars really depends on the dogs. Typically Pink Puppy recommends you never fit your martingale collar where it can actually close around your dogs neck to "choke" them. When fully closed the collar should be flush up against your dog without actually cutting off airflow. This will prevent your dog from being able to slip out of the collar, but also it will be safe for daily wear. However, for certain breeds like Greyhounds and Italian Greyhounds they may still be able to slip out of the collar because of their tiny head so you may need to fit it where the two metal slides on the martingale loop are not able to touch.
